Apartment communities

A clearer view of life around your building.

Apartment buildings bring residents, guests, contractors and deliveries together throughout the day. A considered monitoring plan helps property managers understand observable activity in selected shared spaces and act on agreed concerns.

Coverage with a purpose

Start with the places that matter to your property.

The starting point is your building’s layout, existing camera views and operating routine. Together with NETEX, you can identify the entrances, shared lobbies, access paths and other approved common areas that merit attention during an agreed schedule.

A useful scope defines what operators should look for and what they should do next. It should also identify what a camera cannot show, such as blind spots, obstructed views or activity beyond the agreed coverage area.

Entrances and access paths

Review observable movement through selected access points against property-specific instructions.

Shared circulation areas

Include agreed lobby or corridor views where their use is appropriate and authorised.

Management priorities

Set priorities around the building’s particular concerns, operating hours and escalation contacts.

From observation to follow-up

Give your management team usable context.

An observation is more useful when it identifies the location, time and visible behaviour rather than making assumptions about a person. Agreed reports can help your team review repeated concerns and coordinate a proportionate follow-up.

Monitoring supports your building’s wider arrangements. It does not replace access control, maintenance, resident communication or a suitable emergency response plan.

Before monitoring begins

Bring the building, cameras and responsibilities into one plan.

Prepare an annotated camera list, proposed monitoring hours, relevant site instructions and an escalation contact tree. NETEX can then review technical compatibility and the requested scope before any service is agreed.

Private apartments and private living spaces are outside the service described here. The customer must establish the necessary authority and applicable residential privacy arrangements for the nominated shared-area views.

Questions, answered

Clear expectations.
From the beginning.

Every property is different. The right scope starts with the right questions.

Understand the process
Can you monitor only selected apartment cameras?

The scope can be built around nominated, authorised views rather than every camera at the property. The final camera list, hours and observation arrangements must be agreed with NETEX.

Does monitoring replace our concierge or building manager?

Remote observation can support onsite teams, but it cannot carry out physical checks, admit visitors or resolve issues at the property. Responsibilities and handover points need to be clear.

Will residents’ private apartments be monitored?

No. This service is described for selected shared or external property areas. Private living spaces are outside the scope presented on this website.
